Bordeaux Rouge 2001

The acronym  IGT means "typical Geographical Indication" and aims to ensure the provenance of the wine from a given region or area of Italy.

To acquire this brand of origin, the wines must follow in their production a path that governs the various phases and the nature of wine (color, year ofharvest, type of grape from which it proceeds, etc..)

IGT is the abbreviation used in many table wines of all Italian regions, from Sicily to Veneto through  Abruzzo and Emilia.

The universe is so vast that in IGT is easy to find quality wines, although defined as"table", and because of the secular culture in the production of these type of wine in the various regions, the IGT wines are often products of a very high quality . So we can say that IGT is a way to define a category between the simple table wine, and DOC and DOCG wines.

Some examples of famous Italian IGT wines are wine Emilia, Tuscany, Hills of Treviso and  Salento.
