Sangue di Giuda (meaning Juda’s blood) is made from Uva Rara, Croatina & Barbera grapes, grown in the vineyards of the district of Broni & surrounding areas.
Sangue di Giuda is a red sweet wine with an intense color. Sangue di Giuda is known for its slightly almond taste & it’s an ideal companion of dessert, especially those made with red fruits.
Sangue di Giuda DOC is one of the most typical wines of Oltrepò Pavese area (that can also be written Oltrepo Pavese) & it’s the right expression of its “terroir”.
The name of Sangue di Giuda (Juda’s blood) comes from a Legend. This Legend tells that Juda died but Jesus decided to bring him to life again. So Juda came back on earth & appeared in a small village in Oltrepò Pavese Area, called Broni.
Broni’s inhabitants recognized Juda as Jesus’s betrayer & decided to kill him.
In order to rescue himself from death, Juda recovered all the sick vineyards in Broni and vineyards’ owners decided to call their red sweet wine
